Team Lead NOC Engineer

Purpose: Lead a team to provide round-the-clock fault management and technical support and meet resolution Service Level Agreement (SLA).
 
Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of shift Engineers in 24x7 Network Operation Centre (NOC) to perform network surveillance and carry out fault management support for network elements and related services running on Internet, Transmission, Mobile, TV Entertainment networks, cloud, network security, cybersecurity and technologies.
  • Exercise command and control in the NOC, with key competency in Enterprise IP network
  • Ensure the shift Engineers have the competencies to maintain network stability, reliability, with optimal performance.
  • Provide effective and timely incident/ problem management including problem identification, tracking, isolation, troubleshooting, notification, escalation, and resolution.
  • Ensure proper closure of major incidents and outages, which include proposing test plans, arranging and participating in discussions, tracking key events with proper written reports, meeting key stakeholders to address escalated and technical issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure proper resolution and closure of technical issues of varying complexities.
  • Coordinate network changes, maintenance, and enhancements so as to achieve the highest standard of availability and reliability of our networks.
  • Formulate and provide adequate trainings to support all services.
  • Formulate new use cases, lead project and work groups, work with the relevant stakeholders to complete the projects according to schedule with high quality.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate qualification in Electronics, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Studies, IT or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of relevant experiences in NOC environment within ISP/ Telco Industry
  • Highly proficient in various routing protocols and IP networking technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and key Internet Protocols (eg MPLS, DNS, DHCP, RTP, BGP, IS-IS)
  • Good working knowledge of Mobile/ Voice network related protocols (eg 3G/4G/5G Radio, Mobile Core, Mobile applications, Fixed Voice services, integrated IP telephony over cloud) 
  • Experiences with using monitoring tools such as Network Management System, Network trace and troubleshooting tools.
  • Candidates with CCNA (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Candidates with experiences in leading and managing technical teams preferred.
  • Experiences with Python and/or other scripting languages would be advantageous.
  • Experiences in managing teams independently, resolving major incidents and outages, in a fast-paced and time-constrained environment.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to converse effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Must be prepared to perform standby duty as point of escalation with shift Engineers.
