Systems Engineer (Storage and Backup)

This role is for a StarHub Subsidiary. The Engineer will be managing the scope as stated below:   

Key Responsibilities:

• implementation, setup, and configuration of storage and backup solutions
• Deploy and configure Huawei storage systems, including Dorado and OceanProtect
• Implement and configure Huawei HyperMetro for active-active storage solutions (optional)
• Handle storage provisioning, RAID configuration, LUN creation, and mapping
• Perform initial system setup, firmware upgrades, and health checks
• Configure replication, snapshots, HyperMetro, and other data protection features
• Integrate storage with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Nutanix) 
• Work closely with project teams to ensure timely and successful delivery
• Follow standard deployment procedures, documentation, and best practices
• Provide basic knowledge transfer and handover after project completion
• Knows Nutanix, VMWare, Linux, Windows will be an added advantage

Requirements:

• Proven experience in storage implementation and deployment
• Hands-on experience with Huawei storage solutions, especially Dorado and OceanProtect
• Strong understanding of storage concepts (RAID, SAN, NAS, LUN, replication, active-active solutions)
• Experience integrating storage with VMware, Nutanix, and Windows servers
• Familiarity with Veeam backup and recovery concepts
• Ability to work independently and deliver within project timelines
• Good documentation and communication skills

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other enterprise storage vendors (e.g., Dell EMC, HPE, NetApp)
• Knowledge of SAN switching (FC/iSCSI)
• Relevant certifications in storage or virtualization technologies if have (HCIA, HCIP, VMCE)
