Job Description

Purpose:

• Plan and design Transmisson and Carrier Ethernet networks
• Plan and project manage Core and Access Transmission network migration projects
• Perform improvement, optimisation and expansion of existing/ new Transmission and Optical networks (eg DWDM/ OTN)
• Enhance security of existing/ new networks to meet IMDA's requirements
• Translate or map BAU workflow requirements to facilitate automation of existing/ new software

Responsibilities:

• Carry out existing/ new network and systems planning, implementation and enhancements within cost and timeline
• Perform system tests, end-to-end integration tests and interoperability tests with other operator or customers
• Assign and schedule work order activities with vendors to ensure services are delivered promptly, on time, and meet customers' expectations
• Interface with internal and external parties to ensure daily operations are smoothly executed
• Manage and verify network database (eg SHIFT) before and after implementation
• Manage work quality of vendors during site survey and new transmission equipment integration
• Develop software tools, processes, and implement new automatic scripts and applications
• Carry out code development, enhancement and optimization
• Assist Team Leader to manage daily work order activities and urgent escalated matters
• Manage resources and operating expenses assigned to the projects
   

Qualifications

• Appropriate qualification in Electrical/ Computer Engineering, Telecommunication or equivalent
• Relevant experiences in Telecommunication or network engineering industry will be advantageous but not necessary
• Possesses good telecommunication network knowledge and skills such as IP, routers and switches, SDH/DWDM Transmission, fiber optic network and technologies
• Possesses knowledge of Carrier Ethernet and TCP/IP
• Demonstrated abilities to carry out technical fault analysis, project management, system testing, and problem solving
• Certification in CCNA/ CCNP will be advantageous
• Knowledge of SDN is preferred
• Familiar with MS Office
