About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Procurement Category Manager to lead sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and drive value creation across assigned categories. In this role, you’ll act as a key interface between business units and procurement, developing category strategies that align with both operational needs and enterprise-wide goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals and procurement best practices, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze spend across multiple business units to identify consolidation opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct market intelligence to stay ahead of supply market trends and assess market dynamics.
- Lead competitive sourcing activities to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet performance, cost, and quality criteria, while conducting robust negotiations and risk assessments to ensure optimal commercial and contractual outcomes.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance through business reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with key suppliers to explore innovation, drive value-add, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Serve as the liaison between internal stakeholders and Procurement to ensure category strategies support organizational goals.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and business units to ensure effective governance and risk management.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), or a related discipline (CIPS or equivalent certification is a plus).
- Minimum 3 years of procurement experience with a proven track record in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier negotiation.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience in spend analysis and market research to support data-driven decision-making.
- Solid commercial and project management skills to lead sourcing initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Good working knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, commercial law, and financial analysis.
- Experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) procurement is a strong advantage.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
