Job Description
The Business Intelligence (BI) Lead is instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making within the CLM team. By transforming raw data into actionable insights, the BI Lead helps the team and broader organization understand customer behavior, preferences, and pain points. Through advanced data visualizations and analytics, the BI Lead enables stakeholders to see the story behind the numbers, leading to more informed strategies and initiatives. This role is not just about reporting numbers but about interpreting data to provide a deeper understanding of our customers, thus playing a crucial role in enhancing customer experiences and driving Starhub's growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Define and implement the long-term BI strategy, ensuring alignment with Starhub's objectives.
- Create, maintain, and optimize Tableau dashboards that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business questions into actionable analytics projects.
- Use complex data analysis methods to derive insights, identify trends, and provide recommendations to the business.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior BI team members, ensuring they follow best practices and grow in their roles.
- Collaborate with data science, digital analytics, and customer insights teams to provide integrated insights.
- Keep abreast of the latest BI trends and tools, ensuring that the team leverages the best and most relevant technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications
Education Level
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field.
Required Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with the telecommunications industry and customer lifecycle management.
- Expertise in tools like Tableau and extensive experience with SQL. Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling concepts.
Professional Qualification / Certification requirements
Preferred certifications include:
- Tableau Certification, SQL Certification, and BI Professional Certification like CBIP (Certified Business Intelligence Professional).
Job specific technical skills
- Proficiency in Tableau for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced dashboards.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and ETL processes.
- Ability to write basic data crunching function’s using python.
