Job Description

Purpose

• Strategise and lead the Fixed IP-Optics Transport and Broadband Network planning, engineering and implementation teams (DevOps)
• Develop multi-year technology and network roadmaps to support Enterprise and Consumer Product Developments and services
• Adopt the Transformation team’s strategy to transform StarHub’s telecommunication Fixed transmission and IP broadband networks to support DARE+ initiatives

Responsibilities

• Execute the transformation plans, roadmaps and strategies for IP, Segment Routing, Optical and Software-defined domains
• Plan and transform StarHub’s telco network infrastructure into a cloud native, software-enabled, intelligent network architecture that supports partial or fully-automated and data-driven operating model
• Evaluate and identify areas of automation with clear architecture view and its evolution path
• Manage the networks and platforms life-cycle and ensure that they continue to evolve to support existing and new business requirements for Transmission and Broadband networks
• Provide leadership to guide the team to plan, budget and source for network solutions and manage the contracts, cost, delivery and timeline.  This incudes to jumpstart the team with IP/ SDN/ software development with hands-on approach to engineering solutions around the platforms.
• Introduce best practices and build agile development mindset and capabilities within teams
• Manage vendors and other internal stakeholders to deliver projects and solutions that meet business requirements
• Manage and influence business stakeholders in the technical designs, solutioning and product constructs
• Develop and manage various teams with different subject expertise for planning, implementation, Tier 3 troubleshooting, and management of various networks:
  • Transmission Core and Access networks using DWDM, GPON, XGSPON
  • IP network using BGP Routing Protocols for IP Peering, Intranet, IP Transit, Security solution
     

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with more than 10-15 years of experiences in managing large scale telco, enterprise or cloud networks planning & operation
• Expertise in IP routing and good understanding of optical concepts
• Good knowledge of SDN and cloud architecture (private cloud, multi-cloud, hybrid cloud), software-defined networking, network virtualization, containerization and their application, and security fundamentals
• Ability to execute technology strategy and migration implementation plans, by working in a consultative manner with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experiences in developing services and products by working with product managers and business teams
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex start-up environment and thrive in ambiguous situations
