About the role

StarHub is seeking an innovative, insightful and results-oriented Lead/ Senior Decision Intelligence Analyst to join our Finance Decision Intelligence (DI) team. In this role you will be working on DI projects that typically involves both quantitative (e.g. advanced analytics, machine learning) and qualitative (e.g. human behaviour) science to arrive at effective decision making to drive good business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business requirements and drive the application of advanced analytics tools and techniques in a complex data environment.
  • Design and adopt effective analytical approaches while considering performance and scalability to large datasets.
  • Recommend and adopt best practices in analytics model development and validation.
  • Identify root causes and recommend solutions to address data quality issues.
  • Drive execution of data and analytics strategy and provide technical advice and support towards infrastructure requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure end to end operational efficiency on data preparation, extraction and transformation.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • At least 6-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in team lead capacity in data analytics and data mining work.
  • Critical and logical thinker with keen business acumen to link the dots between data and business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in different data acquisition techniques, in both traditional & new methods; appreciate the advantages and limitations of different technical solutions in meeting analytics needs.
  • Keen eye for opportunities for value creation with applied data and decision science.
  • Proficient and meticulous in working with large amounts of data to discover patterns and trends.
  • Utilise in-depth knowledge of modern data driven methods and fuse with industry domain understanding to deliver and value-add business insights and decision-making that are data-driven.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative subjects such as Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Working proficiency of R/Python and SQL is required. Experience of Tableau, Power BI, AWS, Azure, Anaplan, Lavastorm (or Infogix Data3Sixty), etc. will be advantageous.
  • Track record in management and working on multiple projects concurrently.
